37:52 On a very special Episode 10…

Did you miss us?

We had to go on a quick vacation due to a variety of things, but we’ve made a promise to make it all up to the listeners by getting back on track, effective immediately. With Lee & Z both being in New York at the same time, who knows what secret projects will unfold very soon!

Lee & Z in New York slideshow

Have you ever imagined Little Miss Gamer having a conversation with Snuffleupagus from Sesame Street? Dream no more! This is a very special episode with a very special old school segment, as Z was able to sit down with her good friend Martin P. Robinson, the puppeteer and voice of Telly Monster and Snuffy! They talk about a landmark moment from the 80s that rocked the Sesame Street world forever.

We are proud to announce the winner of our Lee & Z Show logo contest. Paulo, you rock!

Our new contest is video game haikus! Haikus are weird, three-line poems that have 5 syllables on the first line, 7 on the second, and 5 more on the third. Here is an example from The Resigned Gamer

infinite fetch quests
chocolate, roses, and rings
won’t make her love you

Lee would prefer if you worked in a reference to Lee & Z, and Z is a lover of puns. The winner will receive some comics by Sam Kieth and a copy of the incredibly rare and out-of-print Snow Snow For Lucy on DVD, Lee’s favorite animated film of 2009. We’re tough judges, so get crackin!

Temporary logo for Episode 7. Do you like it? Do you have any comments? Let us know!

We have some updates on our logo contest! We’ve received some great logos so far, but one thing that’ll give your entry that extra ‘oompf’ is if it showcases video games in some way. Those that have already submitted their logos are free to re-enter if they think they want to change their stuff a bit, but if not, that’s OK. The name of our show doesn’t quite tell people right off the bat what we’re all about, but a snazzy video game themed logo would be great for this site. Also keep in mind that we will be building the entire layout of the site around your logo! This contest is very important to us, and we are looking to run it through at least August 31. You guys and gals rock!

*update* Episode 6 will be uploaded to iTunes later this weekend. Sorry for the technical difficulties!

Hey, Lee here! With my PC finally risen from its grave, the Lee & Z Show is now juuuust about almost on track. This episode for early July 2009 covers a wide variety of brand new segments! We expand on the popular Little Miss Gamer episode of the “Top Five Cheap or Free Games to Beat the Recession” by talking about more overlooked budget games out there, and I also talk about my wasted childhood in collecting baseball cards and comics.

Our logo contest continues with The King of Kong on DVD still up for grabs!

The NEW Adventures of Captain S!

A word from Lee
Lee here, and am I ever excited! We have our first episode of the Lee & Z Show in the books!

Yep, this was the big surprise. As many of you know, I’m a huge fan of PBC Productions and their major works, Little Miss Gamer and The NEW Adventures of Captain S. Lindsey Briggs and myself have great respect for each other, and the opportunity presented itself for us to collaborate on this extensive project together. Lee and Z have collided to form a brand new half-hour audio podcast once every two weeks, and folks, this is only the beginning!

The Lee & Z Show is going to cover a ton of things. We’re going to usually be heavy on retro gaming, but we’ll also cover the current gen stuff, as well as movies, television, cartoons, anime, and anything else that screams ‘geek’.

What do you think of the show? Let us know! We have an e-mail set up at mailbag@leeandz.com. Also, keep in mind that we have that contest going on! Send in your submissions for potential show-ending catchphrases to the mailbag! If we go with your catchphrase, you’ll win a DVD worth at least $10. Easiest contest in the world!

Not only can you listen to the show here, but you can also get our podcast on iTunes! We’ll also be crossposting our episodes to YouTube in the near future.

To accompany the show notes, we also have several links related to the subjects we talked about. Here’s what all goes down in our first show.
